Well, this makes month SEVEN of Ipsy for me! I was thinking I would only try Ipsy for 12 months and then I would try a different subscription service. But, I am really enjoying Ipsy so much and the price is reasonable and I may stick with it even after a year. We’ll see. It really helps me expand my cosmetic and skincare knowledge about different kinds of products and brands that I did not know about before trying Ipsy.
If you haven’t heard about Ipsy before, it is a mail subscription that sends you a new makeup pouch each month along with 5 products to sample. And, the kicker? It is ONLY $10 a month! It is also fun to see what others get, because not everyone gets the same products… you fill out a questionnaire and they base your products off of your answers. Sweet! If you’re interested, you can sign up under me, by clicking HERE and I’ll earn some points to by myself extra products. Thanks (in advance).
AND, thanks to those of you that did sign up under me, because I am receiving a FULL size lip color this month for all of the points I have earned. Woohoo! I have been waiting to redeem them on something I’d really like… and when I saw this lovely mandarin lip color by Smashbox I grabbed it! I can’t wait to get this extra item in my next Ipsy bag!
So are you ready to hear what I received in my Ipsy bag?
IT Cosmetics – Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
Currently, I use DipBrow on my eyebrows and I love it. However, I have to apply it with a special brush and it does take a little time in the morning. This eyebrow pencil from Ipsy is easy AND quick! Plus, it has a universal shade that works with any eyebrow color! I use this if I want a quick eyebrow fix and if I am going for an evening out, I use my DipBrow! I was disappointed that after only my second use, the brow pencil fell out, though! I think it got stuck to the inside of the cap and when I opened it, it pulled it out. I don’t put the cap on all the way now and I put the stick back in and it still works… so, I’m ok with it as long as it doesn’t happen again!
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Smashbox Cosmetics – Photo Finish Foundation Primer
I have been wanting to try this and just never got around the buying it. I don’t use a foundation primer currently, but after trying this I need to start. It was especially smooth and silky and really helps my makeup last during the hot and humid summer we are having now in St. Louis!
I would rate it 5/5 stars.
Lavanila Laboratories – Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla
I really, really loved this body butter! I always like to apply a cream on my legs after I shave them in the morning. This was great and smelled wonderfully! The only complaint was the sample was really small, even though the tube looked big… lots of air in the tube! I only got two uses out of it, not enough to determine if I’d want to buy it again.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
Formula X Nail Color in Power Source
I was excited to get a nail color in a brand I had never tried and a color that I will actually wear! This is the perfect summer coral, I have another coral already in my nail color collection, but it is more of a pinkish coral. It seemed to chip a little easier than the Essie polish I usually wear, but not soon enough that I won’t use the bottle up.
I would rate it 4/5 stars.
tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon
I was really excited to receive this mini shadow crayon and I could see this being a perfect eye shadow to keep in your purse and to add on the go by itself or to blend with other eye shadow colors while applying your makeup in the morning or evening. It applied smoothly and the color looked nice with my skin tone.
I would rate it 3/5 stars.
The black Ipsy bag was nice this month and I think I am going to use it on our upcoming Disney trip!
