If you remember a few weeks back, we painted one wall in my daughters room with rainbow stripes (see post HERE). Since then, I’ve moved my old childhood desk into her room and I plan to create a gallery wall around it. I want the gallery wall to pick up hues from the colorful stripes in her room that match her bedding. Since I don’t want to buy all of the wall art, I decided to get a little crafty… of course! And, what girl doesn’t like colorful pom poms? I have been seeing lots of embroidery hoop art lately and I thought I’d make her a pom pom initial on an embroidery hoop!
…and, it seemed like the timing was perfect, because Speed-Sew Fabric Glue contacted me to try out their product! Speed-Sew is some tough glue and I know I won’t have to worry about these little pom poms falling off later down the road once we get this hoop displayed on her wall. Speed-Sew is also letting me give away TWO bottles of their glue to ONE lucky reader! This glue is great for crafting and even for gluing on patches for my daughters Daisy scout uniform. I even used it on my son’s Vans shoes where the velcro was coming undone and it has stayed together! This is a miracle glue, you have got to try it!
The supplies for this project were really simple… I picked out some fabric and I went with a pink plastic colored hoop instead of spray painting a wooden hoop. Then, I purchased some pom poms in the four colors that match the stripes in my daughters room. You need to squirt the Sew Easy Glue onto a plate and you can use a Q-tip or brush to apply it sparingly to the pom poms.
I had originally wanted to do a script of the letter A, but it just looked too busy. I decided to just freehand an A with the pom poms, before gluing them all down. I really like how simple this looks, almost as if my daughter did it herself… which, now I regret not letting her make it on her own with it going in her room and all.
Since this is a simple craft, I will let the pictures do the talking…
And, here is the striped wall in my daughters room. Won’t this piece go lovely with it?
