Sometimes I feel like this blog is a cornucopia of posts… 🙂 I really wanted to focus on doing a lot of crafting and DIY posts, but lately there has been a lot of fashion posts. I am excited about sharing two crafting posts with you very soon, I just have a couple details to finish up in my spare time (which is never). I also have to share my latest Stitch Fix box, which I hope to have up later this week. I also have a couple of posts about some fun activities I have done with the kids lately. Last week Autumn and I went to the Oakland House after she got out of school and it was so fun to hang with just my girl! I love one on one time with each kid and I have gotten a lot of it with Autumn lately… we were going to bring her little friend that I watch twice a week with us, but her Mom got strep and to avoid Autumn from getting it, we decided to skip one of the play dates this week. Autumn and I still had a wonderful time, though! Here is a photo of Autumn in front of the Oakland House, which is a large house on a lot of land in Affton, MO. Affton is the county in St. Louis that I grew up in, where my parents still live and where the kids go to school.
It was kind of bittersweet, because I really think this is the last year I will take Autumn to the Oakland House. She will be in full day school next year and I think it is more aimed for preschool and younger. I remember taking just Nathan here (before Autumn was born) as a baby for Christmas. Where does time go? My babies are growing up TOO fast! 🙁 The photo above shows the puppet show that they put on for the kids.
Autumn sitting on the floor, she is holding two little ponies that she got at McDonalds. We’ve decided to cut out fast food for the most part and when I told her we didn’t have a lot of time and were going to McDonalds for lunch before the Oakland House she thought I was kidding her! lol! This is run by a bunch of retired old ladies and the lady reading the story looked SO young for her age! I hope I look that good when I get older! 😉
Another one of Autumn on the rug… I love her little side-braid and bow. It was only her and another boy during our time slot, which was really nice! It can get so crowded on the weekends, so it was nice to get their last time slot for the day.
After the puppet show, they got to see and feed a live bunny some baby carrots. And, yeah… I know, you can see some bunny poop in this photo! Hope you aren’t eating while reading this 😉
Feeding the bunny and petting it
Such a big girl who isn’t afraid of the Easter bunny anymore! When she saw the Easter bunny she told me, I knew it!! The Easter bunny is a GIRL!
Working on an Easter basket craft
You can tell some of these old ladies miss having kids around… 🙂 This was the lady giving out the bag of candy and she asked Autumn how old she was… then she hugged Autumn and gave her 5 little pats on her back side and then gave her one to grow on! Autumn was pretty shocked by it! LOL! I was expecting it either, but it was cute. The lady was just teasing her, but Autumn was ready to leave after that. Then, after we stepped out of the room she asked me if she could do it again! lol! That girl!
I thought some of the decorations were cute… I had to snap a pic of this.
Here is one last photo I took at the end with her and the treat basket and treats she received. Such a fun afternoon, I hope we can fit in some more one-on-one time before school is out.
